What is BugCam?
BugCam is the easiest way to add video to your bug reports! It integrates directly with your favorite bug tracking tools, including Fogbugz, JIRA, Trac, Mantis, Bugzilla, Gemini and others.
What's a Bug Video?
A Bug Video is a recording of your computer screen that you can share with your team. It's great for certain types of bugs. It makes it easier to document the bug and reproduce it. Bug videos can also incorporate your voice, so you can explain what you're doing. You can read more on our "Introducing BugCam" blog post.
How much does BugCam cost?
BugCam is completely FREE, forever, for "occasional" use (up to 5 bug videos per month). Beyond that, check out our pricing page.
Our goal is for BugCam to be so lightweight and simple that most developers and testers won't mind letting it hang out in their system tray to be available for use every so often (and for free!).
What makes BugCam better than Jing and other similar tools?
It's not really! Well, it is... Let us explain! As of right now, BugCam is pretty similar to those other tools, although we like to think that our product is generally simpler, easier-to-use, and requires less clicks to create a video and share it.
The biggest difference (when compared to Jing), and one that we're always improving, is direct integration with the leading bug tracking tools. With BugCam, one click will create a new case in JIRA, FogBugz, Gemini, Mantis, BugZilla, Trac, Redmine, etc. with an embedded bug video.
We admit, BugCam is missing one key feature, as evidenced by this really comprehensive feature comparison chart:
Does BugCam integrate with [name of my favorite bug tracking tool]?
Right now, BugCam integrates directly with Bugzilla, FogBugz, Gemini, JIRA, Redmine,
Mantis, and Trac.

Can I edit or annotate the bug videos I create with BugCam?
Sure, if you want to! Our partners at Blueberry Software offer a product called
BB Flashback which allows you to edit the Bug Videos that you have created with BugCam (.fbr file format). BB Flashback is full featured screen recording tool that lets you create "pro" quality movies, edit them, annotate them,
and much more!
You might also be interested in BB TestAssistant (another Blueberry product) which also uses the .fbr file format. It's specifically made for software testers and developers and includes built-in annotation and editing.
Do you have a version for Mac / Linux / Commodore 64?
Ahh, sadly, not at this moment. We're working on a Mac and Linux version, but don't have any date set yet for their release. You can keep track of our efforts, get notified, post comments, etc. here (Mac) and here (Linux)
We're also thinking about a "Java" version that would be cross-platform, but we're not happy with the required comprimises in user interface that we'd have to make.
Do you have a version for Android / iPhone / iPad?
Not yet, but we'd love to create one! Upvote these here: Android, iOS
P.S. We're not even sure it's possible to do on iOS. Have any insights? Let us know!
